“Lord, I am growing old. I am slower than I used to be. My memory is not so good. the disabilities and irritations of old age come upon me. I find myself telling the same old jokes. Loved ones and friends pass on across the frontier of this life and the next. Lord God, I dare to ask if in prayer I may keep in touch with them and they with me. May your beloved Son, who brings love to us, take our love to them, for he still spans this world of creation and the world full of life.”
