Listen to Your Mama
“The words of King Lemuel, the oracle which his mother taught him…” (Proverbs 31:1)
Listen to your mother. As a general rule, the woman that raises you doesn’t want you to look like a fool or live like one.
Even kings listen to their mamas.
“My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.” (Proverbs 6:20)
Today is a day that society honor mothers, and by extension honors God who created the role. God was the one that knew we needed mothers to shape our hearts and hold the tiniest of hands. He knew that it would be the Eunice’s and the Lois’ of the world that instilled their deep faith in the next generation of Timothy’s. Countless young men and women have had their Bible questions answered by God-fearing mothers and seen the kindness of God through their consistent care.
So if you have a mother in your life, hug her, give her a call today, and let her know you are thankful she chose life and love. Her gift gave you a chance to grow up, know God, and bring her joy by following Him.
“Let your father and your mother be glad, and let her rejoice who gave birth to you.” (Proverbs 23:25)
