God Made Women
“It came about when she [Delilah] pressed him [Samson] daily with her words and urged him, that his soul was annoyed to death. So he told her all that was in his heart…” (Judges 16:16-17)
The life of Samson is a case study of a man that had the outer strength of a hundred men, but was broken by the words of a wooing woman. The extremes highlight the point. There is more power in words than in armies. Say what you will, but Delilah was stronger than Samson.
Samson’s masculine strength caused him to ignore his weaknesses. Men are not stronger than women, just different. A godly woman can win her husband’s heart without a word (see 1 Pet 3:1) and a wicked woman can deceive the strongest of men. The power of women to change the world is underrated.
We need more godly women with selfless hearts. Women that change the world through service, steadfastness, and unashamed love of hearth and home. Women like Abigail, Ruth, Esther, Mary, Sarah, and hosts of others weave together their families and generations that follow after.
The Delilah’s of the world often get all the press because wickedness makes for better headlines, but every day, godly women sacrifice their five minutes of fame so those around them can shine brighter. Don’t buy that foolish oft-quoted line that “well-behaved women seldom make history”. It’s rubbish and a lie.
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:30)
The power of women, young and old, to improve the world and make it a brighter place is incalculable. It quite literally, was “not good” until y’all showed up (see Genesis 2:18 for proof!)
Let us stop attempting to make men like women and women like men or believe the utter nonsense that men and women are the same. We aren’t, and no amount of pretending will change the reality. We need both genders to be what God designed them to be: each strong in their own way.
