Forget the Politicians
“He [King Jotham] did right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah had done… but the people continued acting corruptly.” (2 Chronicles 27:2)
We place too much faith in politicians. King Jotham was a righteous man, but that didn’t stop Israel from being wicked. Godly leaders are a blessing when we can get them, but they are no replacement for personal faith and accountability to God. We should pray for them but never rely on them for our hope.
Whether the rulers be wise or foolish, may it be said of us that we acted uprightly.

This year, #Biblebites are looking at lessons from the history of the Old Testament. Each week reads a section of history with a Psalm to meditate on and a dash of Proverbs to dwell upon.
