Bible Bites
First Steps
“In the first year of his [Hezekiah’s] reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the LORD and repaired them.” (2 Chronicles 29:3)
Hezekiah’s first act of authority was to make worship of God accessible to all. He flung open the doors and called the people to serve God. His first action was to put God first.
Can we say the same? Are our first actions putting God first? What do we do with our “firsts”?
Our first hour of the day?
Our first dollar of the paycheck?
Our first priorities on the to-do list?
Our first efforts?
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
Matthew 4:4 #Biblebites
This Week’s Reading: 2 Chronicles 26-33; Psalm 48; Proverbs 17
This year, #Biblebites are looking at lessons from the history of the Old Testament. Each week reads a section of history with a Psalm to meditate on and a dash of Proverbs to dwell upon.
