Faith Through Fear
“Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that His burning anger may turn away from us.” (2 Chronicles 29:10)
A wise man recognizes that he doesn’t want to have powerful enemies. We build alliances with those who have strength and we make peace treaties with them so that they will may dwell in safety and harmony.
There is no shame in seeking to be right with God out of fear. A wise man fears God and accepts that the Almighty is our judge. The creation should be in awe of the Creator, and all awe carries a tinge of fear within it.
When we realize how frail we are, we are wise to make peace with the LORD.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10)
