The King of Kings
“The LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout all his kingdom…” (Ezra 1:1b)
Cyrus thought it was his idea to let the Jews go free. Silly Cyrus, God was the one in charge, not him.
Rulers are only in charge because God lets them be… Jesus told Pilate that in John 19:11. Remember, Christians need not worry about governors, presidents, kings, etc. They are all simply servants of the Most High.
Whether they know it or not.
“The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes.” (Proverbs 21:1)
