Grace's Opportunities

“But now for a brief moment, grace has been shown from the LORD our God, to leave us an escaped remnant…” (Ezra 9:8a)

Grace isn’t just a gift; it’s an opportunity.  Ezra recognized that God’s grace had brought the people back into the land and that grace had opened a window of opportunity that they needed to seize.

When God gives us second chances, we have to take them and not waste them.  When your spouse forgives you, use it as a chance to rebuild the marriage into what it should have been in the first place.  When you get that clean bill of health from the doctor after a health scare – make sure that the days you gained back get used for God’s glory.  When you realize you’ve been given a life you don’t deserve to have, make sure that you live that life to its fullest.  When you were baptized, your sins were washed away – use your new life to serve Him and not yourself.

Ezra knew that a wasted grace is a tragedy.  Every day is a gift.  Don’t waste the grace.
