A Rebel's Move

“Against You, You only, I have sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and blameless when You judge.” (Psalm 51:4)

We can’t really understand the gravity of sin until we realize who we are hurting.  That’s why phrases like “I’m not hurting anyone” or “all’s well that ends well” are so easily used to excuse our mistakes.

But our Creator is grieved by every sin we commit (Eph 4:30), and every sin is rebellion against His beautiful plan for us and His design.  At the root of all sin is the decision to thumb our noses at God and decide we have a better plan.

Sin isn’t just an error – it is our own personal micro-rebellion against His authority.

“Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.” (1 John 3:4)
