“He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, therefore do not associate with a gossip.” (Proverbs 20:19)

Gossips need friends to peddle their wares to.  What good is a salacious secret without someone to tell it to?

If your friends have nothing better to do than talk to you about other people – they aren’t your friends; you're their accomplice.

“For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.” (Proverbs 26:20)
