Give Me A Reason
“The LORD said, ‘Do you have good reason to be angry?’ ” (Jonah 4:4)
This question is a fantastic tool for anger management. Some anger is justified, but oftentimes, we are angry for reasons which aren’t good. They are selfish and petty. We didn’t get our way, our expectations weren’t met, we feel embarrassed, etc. All of these reasons, if we forced ourselves to vocalize them, would remind us to de-escalate.
Jonah was angry… but for no good reason.
